South-East and East Asia by yacht
South-East Asia suits the European winter: Thailand's limestone islands and Indonesia's dragons and reefs. The Andaman coast runs from about November to April, Komodo in the dry months. It suits families, honeymooners and divers.
South-East Asia is a yacht destination for the European winter. There are limestone islands in Thailand's Andaman Sea, dragons and reefs in Indonesia, and a scatter of archipelagos few yachts visit. The monsoons set the seasons here, and they differ from one coast to the next, so the month often decides where you go.
Where to go
- Thailand. Phuket and Phang Nga Bay's limestone islands, and the Andaman Sea's islands further south. Easy flights, good food ashore, gentle routes.
- Indonesia. Komodo's dragons and currents, Raja Ampat's coral and jungle islands. Wilder and further away.
- Malaysia and Singapore (page to follow). Langkawi's islands, and the Strait of Malacca.
- Myanmar's Mergui Archipelago (page to follow). Remote islands in the Andaman Sea. Ask us whether a visit is possible at the time you have in mind.
- The Philippines (page to follow). Palawan's El Nido and Coron.
- Vietnam (page to follow). Ha Long Bay, with its thousands of limestone islands and islets, a UNESCO-listed site.
- Japan (page to follow). The Seto Inland Sea.
- Hong Kong (page to follow). Its harbour and outlying islands. Shorter than a week is possible on many yachts, priced per day from the weekly rate.
- Palau (page to follow). The Rock Islands of Koror's Southern Lagoon, for divers.

The yachts
The yachts we show in South-East Asia travel the region for a season. We arrange crewed yachts here and look across the market for every enquiry, among the yachts based in the region, including Indonesia's phinisi. The yachts on this site are a selection, not the limit of what we arrange: ask about any yacht, of any size. What a week costs, item by item, is in what a crewed charter costs, line by line.
