ADARA NEXT is a Sunreef sailing catamaran, and her broad, steady platform sets the tone from the moment a guest steps aboard. She sits level at anchor and moves without fuss under sail, so a glass left on the table stays where it was put. Her lines are clean and contemporary, and her living areas run from the saloon out to the open deck with little to mark the threshold. Meals are easily taken outside in the shade, sunbathing spots lie a short walk from the table, and evenings carry on outdoors as the light goes.
Every cabin has a queen-size bed and is finished with evident care, so nobody draws the lesser room when the cabins are allotted. That evenness suits travelling companions who would rather share alike, each with a calm room of their own to retreat to at the end of the day. The saloon has satellite television and a stereo for quieter hours, and board games, backgammon and cards among them, are kept aboard. Starlink WiFi offers a reliable link home for those who need it, and hairdryers are provided.
Her crew includes a captain and a deckhand on deck, with a chef and a stewardess looking after the interior and the table. The chef plans menus around what guests like to eat, working from fresh ingredients, and the barbecue lends itself to grilled lunches outdoors. The captain handles the sailing and the anchoring, the stewardess keeps cabins and saloon in order, and the deckhand readies the tender and toys whenever they are wanted. Nobody aboard has to give a thought to the arrangements of the day.
Much of her day happens in the water. The Seabob draws a swimmer along just below the surface, and the Zar tender pulls water skis, a wakeboard or the tube for anyone after more pace. Gentler pursuits sit alongside: a paddleboard, kayaks and an inflatable canoe for exploring the edges of a bay, snorkelling gear to look at what lies beneath the hull, and the fishing rod for those happy to wait for a bite. Wherever she drops anchor, the tender also serves as the run ashore and back.
