ADARA is a Sunreef sailing catamaran, and she has the broad, steady stance that makes twin hulls so easy to live aboard. Her saloon is light and modern, finished in soft tones, with wide windows that keep the water in sight whether you are lingering over breakfast, reading or watching a film on the saloon television. Every cabin has its own en-suite bathroom, so couples sharing her keep their privacy at the end of the day, and the master cabin has a television of its own. A Yamaha sound system and WiFi are there for those who want them.
Outside, the day moves between distinct spaces. The foredeck is where guests stretch out in the sun. The aft deck is set for long meals in the open air, with the BBQ close at hand. Up on the flybridge, shaded by its bimini, an elevated lounge looks out over the anchorage in every direction, and a sun awning adds cover for the warmest hours. Because these areas sit apart from one another, people aboard can drift off to nap, talk or simply watch the water, then gather again at the table.
She suits guests who like to be in the water as much as beside it. A SeaBob draws snorkellers along beneath the surface, while snorkelling equipment, a SUP and an inflatable kayak make for quieter exploring along the shore. For more pace there are water skis, a wakeboard, a tube, the inflatable Ringo and the inflatable double couch. A fishing rod rewards the patient, and the Zar Formenti tender takes everyone ashore for a walk or a meal. Board games come out once the light goes.
Her professional crew look after the sailing, the meals and the rhythm of each day, shaping it to be as lively or as slow as a guest prefers: an early swim before breakfast, an afternoon on the toys, or simply a quiet mooring and a long lunch. She cruises in Greece, and her crew plan each stretch around the wind, the water and the wishes of those aboard. The result is a catamaran that feels relaxed and well run, with everything close at hand and nothing hurried.
