Allure is a Samana catamaran from Fountaine Pajot, and life aboard is shaped by how much open deck she offers. The flybridge is wide enough for everyone aboard to settle together, whether for an early coffee, the view as the sails fill, or a drink once the sun has gone and the stars come out. Below it, the aft cockpit has room for meals taken outdoors and unhurried conversation at the table. Forward, a hammock and sunbeds that can be rearranged give anyone who wants quiet a place apart.
Inside, the galley is set down in the hull, which keeps the main living area uncluttered and bright. The lounge and the dining table share the saloon without a break between them. Every guest cabin is a double of equal standing, each with a queen bed, its own bathroom, daylight and a modern finish, so couples travelling together need not negotiate over who sleeps where. Hairdryers are provided, there is WiFi, and a Fusion sound system joins the salon TV and stereo for evenings spent aboard.
Her crew are a team of long standing, and their ease with each other carries through the day: warm hospitality, careful cooking and service that rarely needs to be asked for. Many guests have sailed with them before and chosen to return. They take care of the sailing, anchoring and provisioning, leaving you to choose between a swim, a stroll ashore or an afternoon at rest in a sheltered anchorage. In the Aegean, where she cruises, that freedom to change plans with the wind is much of the pleasure.
Once she is at anchor, the toys come out. The Seabob draws swimmers along under the surface, while the tender tows water skis for adults and for children, an inflatable towable, a tube and a wakeboard. Kayaks and SUP paddle boards suit a slower look along the shore, snorkeling gear opens up the water beneath, and fishing gear is there for anyone content to wait for a bite. The Highfield tender also handles the runs to beaches and landings, and with the hammock rigged forward there is always somewhere to rest afterwards.
