ALMA is a Fountaine Pajot catamaran, and her twin hulls give a level, settled footing that lets guests move about her with ease, whether under way or lying at anchor. Her spaces are arranged in layers: a shaded saloon cooled by full air conditioning, open decks given over to the sun, and a flybridge above it all with its own HiFi. She is made for days spent largely outdoors, while her crew keep everything running quietly in the background. Her cruising ground is Greece, where her broad decks and steady motion make for easy days among the islands.
The hydraulic aft platform is the centre of her day. Lowered to the sea, it becomes both a step into the water and a place to sit with your feet in it, and the swim platform and deck shower complete the routine. From there the choice is generous: the Seabob and Seascooter pull you along beneath the surface, Snorkeling equipment opens up the rocks below, and the kayak and SUP suit a slow paddle along the shoreline. Fishing gear is kept aboard for a line at dusk, and the tender handles the run in to sand or quayside.
Inside, comfort is practical rather than showy. Each cabin has a hairdryer, the master cabin has its own TV/DVD, and the saloon has a TV and stereo for a film after dinner. The ice maker keeps a steady supply for drinks on deck, the wine cellar holds its bottles at the right temperature, and the Nespresso machine stands ready for whoever rises first. A water maker keeps fresh water plentiful through long spells at anchor, so nobody need cut short the rinse once out of the sea.
Sound is handled with care. The Bose sound system, the flybridge HiFi and the Indoor & outdoor audio system carry music from saloon to upper deck, and iPod/Device Hookups let guests play their own. WiFi and a printer are there for anyone who must keep a hand in at work. She suits guests who want to spend most of each day in or on the water, with toys for both the energetic and the unhurried, and a crew to look after the rest.
