AURELIA is a sailing catamaran arranged for days lived largely in the open air. Her decks are broad and joined up, leading from a shaded cockpit forward to a foredeck made for lying in the sun. Sitting level across her twin hulls, she stays composed under sail and settled at anchor. Generous glazing surrounds the saloon, keeping the water in sight from indoors. The interior is light, softly furnished and warmly lit after dark, with air conditioning to cool it when guests come in from the heat.
Each cabin is a double with a private ensuite bathroom, an arrangement that suits couples sharing a charter: nobody draws the smaller berth and nobody waits for a shower. The cabins are calm and uncluttered, made for sleeping well rather than for show. Out of sight, a water maker, generator and inverter let her stay out at anchor without relying on a marina, and an ice maker keeps every drink properly chilled. Smaller comforts are in place as well, from a hairdryer before dinner to WiFi for anyone who must stay in touch.
Her aft bathing platform lowers on hydraulics to meet the sea, which makes a swim or launching the toys a simple matter. The water skis come sized for children as well as adults, so younger guests take their turn behind the tender alongside their parents. To range further along a shoreline there are a Seabob and a Sea Scooter; for a slower look, a Paddleboard and snorkeling equipment. A Fishing rod waits for quieter hours, the Deck Shower washes away the salt, and elastic bands are kept aboard for those who like to stay in training.
Her experienced crew sail the yacht and see to the running of each day, attentive without intruding, so guests need only choose between a longer passage and lingering where the swimming is good. In Greece, her cruising ground, the Highfield Tender carries guests to a beach or a harbour, and the Hydraulic aft gangway makes the step onto a quay straightforward. Evenings settle around the BBQ under the Bimini or Sun Awning while the Fusion Soundsystem plays. Inside there are the Salon TV and Salon Stereo, with iPod/Device Hookups, and UNO and cards for slow evenings aboard.
