FREEDOM is an Alalunga motor yacht with a brisk turn of speed, the kind of yacht that shortens the passage and lengthens the stay. A short run after breakfast can bring a fresh anchorage before the sun is high, leaving most of the day for the water. She was refitted, and her crew take care of the helm, the galley and the deck, so guests are left to choose a bay and settle in. In Greece, where she cruises, her pace lets one island give way to the next without a long day at sea.
She carries a broad choice of toys, which makes her a natural fit for guests who want to be active. The Sea-Doo Jet Ski brings speed, the Seabob a quiet glide beneath the surface, and the Hobby Mirage Eclipse a pedalled tour of a sheltered cove. For towed sports there are water skis, a Jobe kneeboard and wakeboard, and Hemi trainer skis that give first-timers a fair chance of standing up. A Naish Nalu paddleboard, an inflatable Arrows windsurf rig, a fishing rod and snorkelling equipment cover calmer moments, and the Oceanic tender with its Yamaha engine runs guests ashore.
Life aboard leans towards the water. Umbrellas set on the swim platform throw shade a step from the sea, while the Jobe portable sunbeds and an inflatable sofa can be floated off the stern for long, idle hours. The deck shower clears the salt before lunch, and the barbecue suits a relaxed meal outdoors that runs on as the light goes. With a DJI drone aboard, the day can be recorded from overhead: the yacht at anchor, the toys in use, swimmers in clear water.
Evenings inside are well provided for. The salon has a TV and a home cinema by Bose for a film after dinner, and there are smart TVs from LG and Samsung in other spaces. Music moves with guests through a Bose system that plays wirelessly to separate zones, while the Fusion system, also wireless, looks after the outside. WiFi is on hand for anyone who needs to stay in touch, and hairdryers are provided, so packing can stay light and simple.
