Just Marie 2 is a power catamaran, driven by engines rather than sail and steadied by her twin hulls. Her wide beam settles her at anchor and gives her decks and interiors a sense of room that surprises anyone used to monohulls, so there is always a corner to retreat to and a table big enough to gather around. She has been refitted, and everything aboard points towards ease: a swimming platform that lowers hydraulically, a jet tender ready alongside and a crew who know their yacht closely. She cruises Greek waters, moving at an unhurried pace between anchorage and harbour.
Her accommodation is arranged so that every cabin has its own bathroom, while the owner's suite stands apart from the rest. It has a sitting area, his-and-hers wardrobes and a balcony reaching out above the water: a quiet place for the first coffee of the day or a drink as evening comes on, with the sea a step away. The guest cabins have queen beds and en-suite facilities of their own, which suits couples sharing a charter, since no cabin is a compromise. Windscoops keep air moving through the cabins after dark.
Up at the bow, loungers face open water for those who want the sun. The aft deck is laid for dining outdoors, whether a lingering lunch or a relaxed supper, and the BBQ and wine cooler stand within reach. Sooner or later the flybridge draws everyone up, with its bar, dining table and deep lounge seating, while the Bimini and a retractable shade temper the midday heat. Inside, the salon turns into a cinema in the evening, with Netflix and Apple TV played through the Bose surround system, and a stereo for music at any hour.
When the anchor goes down, the swimming platform drops to the water and a deck shower rinses off the salt afterwards. The Seabob is the toy to try first; after it come the wakeboard, water skis, kneeboard, tube and the inflatable towable couch, all pulled behind her jet tender, which also runs guests ashore. A fishing rod, snorkelling equipment and the paddleboard suit quieter hours, and there is gym equipment for those who keep a routine. Her crew have sailed together for years, and much of their following comes from guests who return for attentive, discreet care.
