Star Link is a Falcon, drawn along Italian lines and refitted since her launch. She has an easy, uncluttered manner. Stabilisers take the edge off a passage, so lunch can be laid while she is underway. A Starlink connection keeps guests in touch with home only as much as they choose. Her crew bring experience from both hospitality and seamanship, and the result is a yacht that runs quietly in the background: cabins turned down, a table set where the light is best, a tender ready before anyone thinks to ask.
Much of the day gravitates to the flybridge. Its HardTop folds back on clear afternoons and closes over again when the sun is high or a breeze turns cool. The same deck serves for breakfast, a long lunch and drinks after dark. The BBQ makes dinner on deck a relaxed affair, with the crew grilling while guests linger at the table. Indoors, a salon TV and a salon stereo suit a film or some music. Below, each cabin has its own TV and DVD, with bathrobes and slippers laid out.
On the water she is unusually well equipped. Behind the Tempest, guests can try a monoski, a kneeboard, a wakeboard or adult water skis, while another Tempest and the Quicksilver inflatable handle runs ashore. A Jet Ski and a Seabob bring speed, a Sea Scooter carries swimmers beneath the surface, and a paddleboard, snorkelling kit and a fishing rod fill the quieter hours. Children have their own water skis, a sitting board, and a donut and couch, both inflatable, for towed rides. In a quiet bay, floating mats and the inflatable platform on the water become somewhere to spend the whole afternoon.
For guests who keep a routine, there is a treadmill as well as an electric bicycle aboard, with mats for yoga, rollers for loosening tired muscles, tubes and a band for stretching, and a set of dumbbells, enough for a session on deck before the day begins. Her cruising area is Greece, where short hops between anchorages suit her well: a swim before breakfast, the tender to the shore, the anchor down again somewhere new by evening. Between the busy hours on the water and the slower ones on the flybridge, she leaves each guest free to set their own pace.
