ALMYRA II is a sailing yacht that sets a classic profile against sailcloth of a very different order. She is the only yacht from her yard to carry carbon racing sails. Under them she sails with real purpose, and when the wind fails she runs as a capable motorsailer, so a passage never waits on the weather. She was refitted with care, and the work joined the grace of traditional yachting to the practical finish guests expect of a modern yacht. For anyone who wants to feel a large yacht truly sail, she offers something uncommon.
Her keel retracts, and that changes the shape of a day. Shallow bays and quiet anchorages that would turn away a deeper hull come within her reach, and her tenders carry guests the last stretch to the beach. Her range, at the other end of the scale, lets her make long passages between cruising grounds without fuss. She cruises in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and in Albania, Croatia, France, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey, as well as Greece. A care for sustainability runs through the way she is kept.
Life on the water is well provided for. The Seabob draws guests along beneath the surface, the Efoil lifts them clear above it, and the Tiwal sailboat gives anyone with a taste for helming a small boat of their own. There are Aquaglide Chinook kayaks, paddle boards, water skis and a wakeboard, Jobe towables for a single rider or for several together, and a water trampoline to swim out to. A Gocycle waits for exploring ashore. With scuba diving and snorkelling equipment aboard, divers and curious swimmers alike can look beneath her as well as around her.
Her tenders, a Novurania and a Highfield, make light work of trips ashore, towing a skier one hour and ferrying guests to the beach the next. Inside, her layout is flexible, so the accommodation can be arranged around the party aboard rather than the other way about. Her crew are practised in running a sailing yacht of character, and they balance the work of the rig with attentive service on deck and below. She suits guests who want to sail properly, try their hand at many things in the water, and still return to calm, well-ordered comfort.
